What will I do?

• Safely drive in a manner that adheres to the saying on the bus: SAFE, RELIABLE, COURTEOUS.
• Comply with all vehicle operation rules and regulations and those of SIL.
• Daily safety and maintenance inspection of the vehicle.
• Relate positively to all passengers.
• Promote SIL and encourage ridership.
• Perform minor maintenance (e.g., bus washing, adding oil, washer fluid, etc).
• Report maintenance problems to the supervisor immediately.
• Report accidents and breakdowns to the supervisor immediately and follow internal procedures.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Possess current Department of Transportation medical exam and drug screen.
• Possess current Department of Transportation road test.

Position requirements:

• Must hold a valid Missouri Class E Driver's License.
• A high school diploma or GED, with at least two years of experience in a related field is required.
• Applicants must be at least 25 years old, insurable under company policies, and eligible for bonding.
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and familiarity with the independent living philosophy are strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• A current driving record and a background check through the Family Care Safety Registry are required.

Salary: $17.00 an hour.
